Reflection of Life

Jocelyn Alanna Scott daughter of Marlene Ross and the late Chester Ross, was born March 4, 1962 in Charles County, Maryland. She departed the life on October 5, 2018 from Capital Caring and now rest in the arms of Jesus. Jocelyn was married to the late Joseph Robert Scott and from his union they were blessed with three children. Jocelyn was the second youngest of her three brothers Brandon Arthedious Ross, Devevon Austin Ross and Torin Alan Ross who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her first Granddaughter Madison McKenzie Coper and best friend Kathrine Denise Graves.

Jocelyn received her education in the public school system in Charles County, MD and the District of Columbia. She further went on and received her Certificates for Data Entry from Dickerson Business School and D.C. Training Center. Her occupation was a cashier/customer service representative at the Lafayette Plaza Eatery and Navy Yard APIX Exchange. She was open hearted, creative, spiritual, amazing people person, and a true Queen. Jocelyn joined Divine Love Baptist Church in October 1988.

Jocelyn was such a pleasure to be around, she loved having fun with family and friends. Her greatest joy was sharing her love and kindness with others, watching her favorite TV Shows (Wheel of Fortune, One Life to Love, and Life Time Movie Network). She also enjoyed dancing, casinos, and cooking (macaroni and tuna salad). She was a very loving and supportive mother, grandmother, wife and friend. Her home was a place where the doors were always open to relatives, family and friends.

Jocelyn leaves to cherish her memories, her mother Marlene D. Ross, three beautiful children Anton Lorenzo, Shannon Anissa, Sharroud Mikhail, fiance Robert Samuels, two sisters, Ingrid Holland, Glynis Ross, one brother Lyndon Anton Ross, thirteen grandchildren Brianna, Madison, Zaleah, Zakira, Sharroud, Zakazon, Zakyree, Zariah, Zanyiah, Akilah, Xavier, Xavion, Rakiyah, Ava, Amor, one aunt Maude Nixon, four sister-in-laws Regina and April Ross, Gail Oglesby, Marilyn Gober, two brother-in-laws Ronald Holland and James Scott, either nephews, Justin, Ronald, Deveron, Torin, Lyndon, Langston, Trevor and Patrick, four great nieces, three great nephews, one daughter-in-law, her very best friend Wanda Moore and a host of other relatives and friends.

We have all lost a beloved family member, yet heaven has gained a perfect Angel. The life of a soul on earth lasts beyond her departure. You will always feel her life touching yours, her voice speaking to you, her spirit and her love.
