Reflection of Life

Peacefully departed this life on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Hospice of The Chesapeake, Mandrin House in Harwood, Maryland.

Linda Chatman Buckman was born to William Chatman and Elizabeth Lewis, on September 9, 1957, in Washington, DC. Linda was educated in the District of Columbia Public School system and graduated from Eastern High School in 1975. After high school, she went on to study Fashion Design for a briefperiod.

Linda was united in holy matrimony to Louis Andrew Buckman Sr. in June of 1986. out of this union, one child, Ebony Buckman was born. Together, they shared 3 additional children, Louis Buckman Jr., Shenitta Buckman, and Andrea Buckman (deceased) all of whom she loved as her own.

Linda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was passionate about learning the Word of God. Under the leadershipof Bishop Donald A. Wright, she blossomed and flourished int he ways of God.

Linda was the Matriarch of the family. Family was her world and she cherished each moment that was spentwith them. She especially loved the kids and would play house and store with them every chance she got. She was everyone's favorite! Linda also loved to sew and would make clothes, lap cloths, and scarf for her family, friends, and women of the church.

Linda was employed as an accountant at Seat Pleasant City Hall from 1989 to 1992. She also worked at Maryland Vehicle Administration from 1992 to 1997 as a customer service representative.

Linda transitioned from this life on January 20, 2018, at Hospice of the Chesapeake's Mandrin House, in Harwood, MD. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her and ultimately gave her peace.

She was loved and will be missed by her children, Ebony Buckman, Louis Buckman Jr., and Shenitta Buckman; eight grandchildren, Nakya Duff, Latoya Buckman, Keon Buckman, Damien Buckman, Tierra Buckman, Rodney Buckman, Andrea Buckman, and Mekhi Buckman; two brothers, Leroy Ellis and Harold Ellis (deceased); threesisters, Joyce Scott, Doris Spann (deceased) and Frances Ready (deceased); two god-daughters, Khadijah Allen-Camp and Kayla Allen; and a multitude of other relatives and friends.
