Reflection of Life

Michael Quinn Edwards, of Bowie, Maryland, departs this life on November 29, 2017, following a brief battle with leukemia. Michael was born in Marysville, California, on January 31, 1968, to the late John W. Edwards and Mary V. Edwards of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Michael was assured in his faith and had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Michael grew up in a military family traveling int he United States and abroad. He had a voracious appetite for learning and seeking knowledge. He was a precocious child who began Montessori School in the Philippines at the tender age of three. He attended public and private schools in New Mexico and Maryland, graduating from Bishop McNamara High School in 1986. He studied finance and accounting at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and had a distinguishedcareer in the financial services and healthcare industries. At the time of his death, Michael worked as a Senior Financial Analyst for USA Today FP&A handling Sports finance.

Michael had an outgoing, larger-than-life personality. He enjoyed jokes, funny movies, and was known for his colorful impersonations and hos robust laugh that could fill a room. He enjoyed sports, music, and the beauty of Maryland'sEastern Shore.

Michael loved being surrounded by family and friends and cherished the time he spent with his Mom, daughter, sisters, and nephew. His greatest joy in life was being a father to Ivory, whom he called his princess. He spoke often of Ivory's quiet strength, her exceptional artistic ability, and her potential to achieve great things; he never missed an opportunity to say how proud he was of her.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Ivory M. Quarles, his mother Mary V. Edwards, four sisters Donna F. Edwards, Janice Edwards, Bonnie K. Edwards, and Rhonda J. Edwards; a nephew Jared L. Coleman, his soulmate, confidant, and friend Tara Whicker, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, John W. Edwards and brother John L. Edwards.
