Reflection of Life

Terrell Demond Gardner was born on May 2, 1974, to June P. Gardner and the late William T. Gardner in Washington, DC. Terrell held on to God's out stretched hand and walked with him to receive his heavenly wings on Monday, August 5, 2019. Terrell received his formal education in the District of Columbia School System. Terrell was the second of five siblings. Terrell was once married to Joy Gardner and through that union, a daughter, Jasmyn was born.

He attended George Washington Carver Elementary School, Charles H. Houston Elementary School, Alice Deal Junior High School, and Woodrow Wilson Senior High School. After graduating high school Terrell studied Music Education at the University of the District of Columbia.

Terrell accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Deanwood in Washington, DC. He later, as an adult, joined the Divine Love Baptist Church ministry in Washington, DC. Terrell knew, loved, and served the Lord. This relationship was evident in his many original lyric and music compositions.

Through the years, Terrell worked with groups such as, Andrew Allen Voices of Praise of the First Baptist Church of Deanwood, Images of Unity Community Choir, Back Draft, and Out Da Box X'perience.

Terrell had a love for photography capturing wedding, baby showers, and birthday party functions. He found joy in cooking and would share his master pieces on social media. He would always call his mother with "Hey Ma, what you doing. I made come by and get some." Terrell was a pawn shop guru. His pawn shop experiences were like letting a kid loose in a candy store.

Terrell touched many lives along his life's journey. His presence will be forever missed by many. Our hearts will always remember the joy he gave with his laughter, his music, his lasting friendships, and the love for his family.

Terrell leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Jasmyn Gardner; a stepson, Joshua Hueston; his mother, June Gardner; siblings Anthony "Tony" (Kelly); Taisha; Travaughn (Tishera); Travis (Kanese); niece, Aniyah; nephews Anthony Jr., Amari, Jabari, Travis Jr., Jaden, Trent; one uncle, Donald (Sybil); and many cousins, extended family and close friends.
