William Edward Gray, Sr. son of the late Thomas Cary and Siberia Gray Johnson (step father late Daniel Johnson, Sr.) was born March 27, 1939 in Washington, District of Columbia. He is predeceased by his former wife Helen J. Gray and son Raymond E. Gray, and survived by his son William E. Gray, Jr. (Sandra), three daughters Denise A. Blakely (Roderick), Donna A. Vernon (Charles) and Darlene A. Lazard (Richard); seven grandchildren Stephanie, Carriann, Dwayne, Anastasia, Alexis, De'Neen, and Raymond; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters: Olivia Harrison (late Samuel), Barbara Hubb (late Roy Sr., current William) and Debra Johnson (Reginald), five brothers, Daniel Johnson (Lois), Wallace Johnson (late Joyce), late Robert Gray (Laura), Kenneth Gray, and Van Johnson (Debra) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was educated in the District of Columbia Public School System. He worked 33 years for Ottenberg's Bakery, Baker's Confection Union Local 118. He was affectionately known as Dad, Granddaddy, Super Dad, Billy, Piccolo, Pick Boy and Pick. He was the self-proclaimed president and number one fan of the Gladys Night fan club. He has been a dedicated Pittsburg Steeler's fan for many years. He enjoyed going to church and was a member of Purity Pentecostal Deliverance Center Ministries. He had a great sense of human, very funny and comical. He could make anybody laugh. He also loved spending time with his family especially the children, grands and great grands.His final resting place will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1300 Bladensburg Road, NE, Washington, D.C.
